Often, I come across articles that pique my interest. Whether they are about commercial or industrial properties, unique architecture, or any other thought-provoking topics, I like to take a look. Recently, I discovered a few articles that I found interesting and wanted to share them. They cover escalator types, how to protect your vacant commercial building, and award-winning architect, Norman Foster.
Types of Escalators
Were you aware there are several different types of escalators? If you have experience with a multi-level property or are looking into one, you may find this topic of interest. Depending on the style and function of the building’s space, one escalator may function better than another. Here is a list of the different types of escalators and how they are used.
Protecting Vacant Commercial Buildings
If you have an unoccupied commercial building, there are a few risks you should be aware of. Theft, water damage, fires, pests, and bacterial contamination are all problems you could face if the property is left unattended. Be sure to tell your insurance company about the vacancy. Keep the building safe with a security system. Regular maintenance is also important.
Award-Winning Architect Norman Foster
As someone who deals with different types and styles of buildings, I’ve come to appreciate the creative minds behind their design. Norman Foster, an 87-year-old Pritzker Prize–winning London-based architect, is known for his stunning and high-tech structures.
Since 1978, Foster has created eye-catching buildings that showcase the structure and systems often hidden in other buildings. In May of this year, his latest exhibition opened at the Centre Pompidou in Paris. Click the link below to read about Foster’s work through the years.
